Panasonic Acquires Area Cooling Solutions of Poland
06/12/2024

Panasonic is pleased to announce that the acquisition of Area Cooling Solutions Sp. z o.o. has been successfully finalised. As of today, the Condensing Units business located in Wrocław, Poland, will operate under the name Panasonic Cold Chain Poland Sp. z o.o (Panasonic CCS).
The acquisition of Area Cooling Solutions Sp. z o.o. by Panasonic is a strategic move; by combining their resources and expertise, Panasonic is creating a more robust player in the CO₂ natural refrigeration market across Europe. This acquisition creates a solid foundation for growth and innovation, enhancing Panasonic’s ability to deliver environmentally friendly and sustainable refrigeration solutions to a broader customer base.
Panasonic CCS will continue the production of iCOOL and other refrigeration condensing units, ensuring a steady supply of spare parts for these products. The Compressor and Component Distribution business will continue to be independently managed by the existing operation in Warsaw, Poland.
This strategic acquisition of Area Cooling Solutions marks a significant milestone in Panasonic’s commitment to expanding its range of environmentally friendly products, including R744 (CO₂) and inverter condensing units and enhancing capabilities in the commercial refrigeration sector. By integrating the Condensing Units business into Panasonic CCS, the company is poised to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to customers.
Through the development and promotion of sustainable technologies, Panasonic CCS is committed to contributing to a greener society while meeting the growing demands of the cold chain industry.
Area Cooling Solutions is dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and exceptional service. Since 1986, the company has been providing compressors, controls, and refrigeration units. Their mission is to develop smart solutions, ensuring that their products not only meet but exceed industry standards.
Panasonic looks forward to this new chapter, establishing the Panasonic Group’s European centre for green technologies in commercial refrigeration.
