Panasonic Group Deepens Sustainability Commitments
12/01/2026
Panasonic published its
annual Sustainability Data Book that underlines its continued commitment and
actions to achieve both a
better life and a sustainable global environment.
As part of the Panasonic Group’s long-term environmental vision, “Panasonic GREEN IMPACT”, the Heating & Cooling Solutions business in Europe plays a key role in accelerating efforts to reduce carbon emissions, by delivering energy-efficient, low-carbon HVAC solutions for homes, businesses and communities across Europe and beyond. Equally, the Heating & Cooling Solutions business in Europe promotes circularity and enhance indoor air quality through advanced technologies.
The report highlights that as of 2025, 45 Panasonic factories worldwide, have achieved net zero CO2 emissions, mainly through energy reduction measures, powered by renewable energy and advanced energy management systems. This is exceeding our own set target of 37 factories for 2025 and a big step forward. Panasonic aims to establish net zero CO₂ emissions across all its factories by 2030. The newly opened Pilsen factory in Czech Republic for Aquarea heat pumps is on track to achieve this in the very near future.
Beyond reducing emissions in its own value chain, Panasonic aims to make a significant impact for avoiding CO2 emissions: Reporting on efforts to decarbonise Heating & Cooling, Panasonic’s award-winning air-to-water (A2W) heat pumps and domestic hot water (DHW) systems deliver up to 65% lower CO₂ emissions compared to conventional gas boilers, supporting the transition away from fossil fuels in residential and commercial buildings. In 2025, the Panasonic Group contributed significantly with a total of 53.25 million tonnes of CO₂ avoided emissions from these solutions across its entire product portfolio, surpassing its 2025 goal of 38.3 million tonnes.

Other Key Highlights Include:
· Healthy, Efficient Buildings: Panasonic’s advanced ventilation and air purification systems, including Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERV), are designed to reduce energy consumption while maintaining optimal indoor air quality. These solutions support healthier, more resilient buildings in line with the latest sustainability certifications.
·
Recognition
& Assurance: Panasonic’s
environmental data and progress are independently assured by LRQA, and the
company is recognised in leading ESG indices including FTSE4Good, MSCI ESG, and
EcoVadis.
Enrique Vilamitjana, Managing Director, Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions Europe comments: “At Panasonic, we believe that the future of heating and cooling is our own reduced CO₂ emissions and avoided CO₂ emissions of society, realising a circular economy. Our innovations in heat pumps, ventilation, and refrigeration, such as the new iCORE range and R290 refrigerant, are helping customers reduce their carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and improve indoor environments. We are proud to be leading the HVAC industry’s transition to a net zero, circular, and resilient future.”
Panasonic publishes The Sustainability Data
Book annually as an archive of key information disclosed on its Sustainability Website. This year’s update includes comprehensive
coverage of the latest data across various fields and further enriches the
content in response to stakeholder feedback.
Moving forward, the Panasonic Group will continue striving to realise a sustainable society and enhance corporate value through various sustainability initiatives.
