Panasonic is driving Europe’s shift to decarbonised heating and cooling, unveiling breakthrough solutions at C&R 2025 that redefine comfort, efficiency, and connectivity.

At the Madrid show, Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions will showcase a next-generation portfolio spanning advanced residential systems to large-scale commercial innovations, demonstrating its leadership in sustainable climate control and unwavering commitment to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Innovations for the Home: Sustainability and Smart Control

Panasonic truly offers a total HVAC&R solution: with these innovations, Panasonic consolidates its vision of a connected, efficient, and comfortable home, aligned with its commitment to reducing environmental impact through high-tech climate control solutions that facilitate the energy transition of European homes.

The new Aquarea EcoFlex is Panasonic’s latest innovation, combining advanced air-to-water and air-to-air technologies in a single, integrated solution. It not only delivers efficient space heating and cooling and heat recovery for production of domestic hot water but also improved indoor air quality where units with nanoe™ X technology are utilised. The system offers flexible installation with up to three connectable indoor units (wall-mounted Etherea + duct options) and operates reliably at temperatures as low as -25°C.

The innovative Big Aquarea M series range is designed for superior performance in centralised climate control and domestic hot water (DHW) systems for multi-family buildings, hotels, student and senior residences, and commercial spaces. Its compact and flexible design allows for installation even in buildings with limited space. Key features include a short recovery time and compliance with anti-Legionella regulations with capacities available in 20, 25 and 30kW and for commercial applications up to 300 kW in a cascade system.

Panasonic has expanded its offering with new A2W DHW solutions using the natural refrigerant R290, available in wall-mounted and floor-standing models with capacities between 100 and 260 litres. These units are designed to replace traditional electric water heaters, providing a more sustainable, efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative.

The Multi Zone Duct solution provides zoned airflow for maximum comfort with minimal energy consumption, allowing up to five zones with individual temperature control and simplified duct installation.

The domestic air-to-air range includes the new Etherea, with AI ECO mode, which leverages artificial intelligence to boost energy savings by up to 20% in cooling mode, leaving room conditions to balance energy efficiency with rapid cooling. The compact TZ model, now just 765 mm wide, offers new features for easier installation and maintenance. Both Etherea and TZ models have built-in nanoe™ X technology to improve IAQ at home.

Smart Control

Panasonic’s smart control users gain complete control over energy consumption through intuitive apps to cover all different types of applications including indoor terminal such as fan coils and radiators. To complete the solution, Panasonic provides maintenance packages to the end users, and Aquarea service cloud which is the professional maintenance tool - including latest functionalities for preventive and predictive maintenance.

Commercial Solutions: High Efficiency, Design, and IAQ

Panasonic showcases an extended HVAC&R portfolio for commercial applications, delivering a wide range of solutions designed for high efficiency and reliable performance, committed to driving decarbonisation.

The ECOi EX MF4 solution represents Panasonic’s latest advance in decarbonised VRF 3 pipe system with R32 refrigerant, offering a market-leading maximum of 36 HP in multi-combination systems. The MF4 Series delivers highly efficient performance even in extreme conditions, while providing cutting-edge IAQ solutions with intuitive control and optimised safety measures for R32 refrigerant.

For large spaces, Panasonic will showcase the Jet Air Stream, an innovative climate control system designed for areas requiring high air distribution, such as gyms, production areas, and warehouses. This solution, suitable for both heating and cooling, can deliver up to 5,000 m³/h of air with a maximum projection distance of 30m, offering optimal comfort thanks to its self-directing nozzles.

As part of Panasonic’s commitment to delivering energy-efficient and reliable chiller solutions, the AQUA-Z EVO range extends Panasonic’s R32 ECOi-W heat pump offering. The units feature innovative inverter compressors and capacities from 40 to 50 kW, delivering top seasonal efficiency in the market.

Smart control and management are at the heart of Panasonic’s vision for the future. The new Commercial Smart Edge integrates all major HVAC ranges by Panasonic, improving comfort in commercial buildings. It offers simplified commissioning, optimised plant management and data consumption analysis across all HVAC solutions.

IAQ Solution – nanoe™ X Technology

European building standards are increasingly recognising air quality as a key component of energy-efficient design, and Panasonic’s integrated solutions are helping developers and facility managers meet these evolving requirements.

Panasonic has incorporated its renowned nanoe™ X technology into its wide range covering both air-to-air indoor units and fan coils. improving indoor air quality by eliminating certain contaminants, allergens, and odours. This hydroxyl radical-based technology helps create cleaner environments in the home, offices, hotels, or commercial spaces.

Panasonic’s nanoe™ X air conditioners are HACCP International certified, ensuring safe materials, easy maintenance, and proven bacteria inhibition.

Specialised Applications – Ultra Reliable Refrigeration and Close Control

Panasonic unveils new solutions within its advanced iCORE and iCOOL ranges for commercial refrigeration.

The natural refrigerant-based iCORE range is now even more complete with this latest new line-up, 1HP CO2 non-housing unit. It is an ideal solution for cold rooms and refrigerated cabinets in convenience stores and supermarkets. Compact, reliable, and safe, the iCORE CO unit offers flexible installation indoors or outdoors.

The iCOOL SE A2L-ready unit provides a fast return on investment compared to on-off systems, featuring an inverter BLDC compressor and utilising low GWP (<150) A2L refrigerants.

Other specialised applications include Panasonic’s solutions for critical environments. The P Series close control unit, combined with PACi NX direct expansion unit, offers the first package solution to cool critical spaces, such as control rooms and museums, delivering strict control of temperature and humidity.

Panasonic: Driving Innovation

Driving these innovations is Panasonic’s investment in its capabilities in the Czech Republic, Italy, France and Poland, which will significantly increase supply capacity, training, and support across the EU. The grand opening of Panasonic’s new 140,000m² complex in Pilsen, Czech Republic, took place on 29th August this year, marking a major milestone in the company's European expansion. The plant embodies Panasonic’s commitment to sustainable reindustrialisation and leadership in electrifying the climate control sector. With robotic precision and a skilled workforce, the factory is set to reach a production capacity of 1.4 million units annually by 2030, with the potential to expand to 3,000 employees. This state-of-the-art facility is designed not only to boost production output but also to serve as a hub for technological innovation and operational excellence.

In addition to the factory, Panasonic has inaugurated the Centre of Excellence in Pilsen - a dedicated training centre aimed at upskilling installers, engineers, and partners to ensure the highest standards of product knowledge and customer service. Complementing this initiative, the Panasonic Lab in Italy provides further opportunities for research, development, and hands-on training tailored to the specific needs of the European market. Panasonic’s fourth European facility is in Poland, developing and producing sustainable refrigeration technologies, including CO and inverter-controlled condensing units. These investments support regional economies and job creation, while also reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation and logistics by bringing production and expertise closer to key markets.
