Panasonic puts ‘Cool Intelligence’ into action for World Refrigeration Day 2026
24/06/2026

Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions is proud to sponsor World Refrigeration Day (WRD) 2026, taking place globally on Friday 26 June. Under this year’s theme, ‘Cool Intelligence’, WRD highlights the smarter use of cooling, refrigeration and heat pump technologies to help reduce carbon emissions, improve energy performance and create more efficient, resilient and sustainable buildings across Europe.
This
focus is closely aligned with Panasonic’s HVAC&R approach to innovation, by
developing solutions that are sustainable, efficient, reliable and ready for
the demands of modern European buildings. From residential heat pumps and
commercial air conditioning to refrigeration, controls and connected platforms,
Panasonic works with partners across Europe to support lower-carbon comfort and
performance.

Enrique
Vilamitjana, Managing Director at Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions
Europe, commented, “World Refrigeration Day 2026 is an important reminder that
intelligent heating, cooling and refrigeration depends on more than advanced
technology, it requires responsible design, skilled installation and long-term
system optimisation. Through the Panasonic GREEN IMPACT plan and our HVAC&R
portfolio, we are focused on helping customers across Europe reduce energy use,
lower carbon emissions and create healthier, more resilient buildings.”
Panasonic’s
European established HVAC&R network is supported by 42 training centres and
four manufacturing sites across the region, with Poland playing an increasingly
important role following the recent acquisition of Area Cooling Solutions.
Through Panasonic Cold Chain Poland in Wrocław, the company is strengthening
local production of CO₂ and
inverter condensing units for the European refrigeration market, while its
wider network supports installers, consultants and customers with the training,
products and technical expertise needed to deliver smarter, lower-carbon
solutions.
As
Europe moves towards a lower-carbon future, Panasonic is helping turn ‘Cool
Intelligence’ into practical solutions that deliver efficiency, comfort and
performance where they matter most.
