Panasonic Hosts HVAC Installers for the First Training Session at its Cardiff HX Renewable Energy Demonstration Facility
19/02/2025

Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions welcomed installers to its new Training Centre of Excellence in Cardiff for the region’s first air-to-water training session. Launching Europe’s first HX Renewable Energy Demonstration Facility in December 2024, the site provides hands-on experience with Panasonic’s extensive heating and cooling range. This centre further enhances the existing UK Panasonic HVAC training facilities and mobile training vans.
As part of its commitment to achieve virtually Net Zero CO2 emissions from its operations by 2030, Panasonic opened the new HVAC training centre in Cardiff, located within the site of its first 100% renewable energy operated factory. The facility hosts product-focused courses and shares best practices with customers and sustainability-conscious businesses, supporting a skilled regional workforce for a greener future.
John Kellett, Country Manager for UK and Ireland for Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions commented, “Training is vital for the UK workforce and delivers the skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing economy. It also helps ensure high quality heat pump installations that are energy efficient and reliable in reducing carbon and energy costs. Our focus and commitment to carbon neutrality is crucial if we are to tackle the global challenge of climate change for future generations.”
Panasonic, a market leader in heating and cooling for over 60 years, continues expanding its product portfolio and offers one of the most efficient and widest ranges currently on the market. The latest Aquarea M Series heat pump uses natural refrigerant R290 with a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3, delivering flow temperatures of up to 75OC and a top class ErP for heating. These units are available in a wide range of capacities that are split into two families: the 9, 12 &16kW and the Big Aquarea M series, 20, 25 & 30kW. The units have a market-leading SCOP, SEER and DHW COP figures, to deliver exceptional performance with minimal noise for maximum comfort.

Josh Elliott, Plumbing & Heating Engineer at Westlink Mechanical, attended the training session and commented, “In the global transition to air source heat pumps, I was looking to expand my knowledge on the heat pump product range offered by Panasonic. The session was very well led by the trainers who onboarded us with relevant product information including the efficiencies of the units. I look forward to attending the next training session available through the Pro Partner portal to learn more about the Panasonic range.”
Panasonic’s Aquarea accredited air to water heat pump training course equips installers with the knowledge required for heat pump technology on system design, installation, and commissioning. Panasonic’s Pro Partner scheme offers ongoing support with design software, schematics, installation manuals and the latest product information and much more.
Another attendee, Gareth Cole, Director at Regmac Air Conditioning Ltd added, “Coming from a background in air conditioning, I attended my first Panasonic air to water training to gain a comprehensive understanding of the latest systems available on the market. I intend to utilise the knowledge acquired to improve both my technical expertise and Regmac’s services. This will be applied either directly in collaboration with Panasonic as a partner or within Regmac to support the company’s growth and operational efficiency. This knowledge will be invaluable to my professional skills, particularly in the areas of system installation, commissioning, and fault diagnosis, which will ultimately benefit my company."
This innovative facility supports Panasonic’s investment in HX fuel cell and hydrogen technology. With another European location set to open in 2025, Panasonic continues driving innovation toward a sustainable future.
