Panasonic Strengthens Refrigeration Leadership with Launch of iCORE CO₂ Range Across Europe
15/10/2025
Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions has announced
the European availability of its iCORE range of CO₂ condensing units, underscoring
its position as a global leader in commercial refrigeration solutions and meeting
the evolving needs of operators across Europe.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of
Panasonic’s production and sales of CO₂ condensing units in Japan. Since
pioneering this field, Panasonic has built a formidable legacy that now
benefits the European market, where CO₂ condensing units are still a relatively
recent innovation. As of September 2025, Panasonic has successfully installed
more than 5,500 CO₂
condensing units across Europe - a testament to the company’s pledge to
sustainable, cutting-edge solutions and to growing market confidence.
The iCORE range is Panasonic’s most extensive
and versatile commercial refrigeration range to date and represents its
commitment to advancing natural refrigerants and energy-efficient technologies.
Optimised for R744 (CO₂),
a refrigerant with a global warming potential (GWP) of just 1, iCORE provides
customers with a sustainable alternative to high-GWP refrigerants.
The range offers one of the widest capacity
selections available: up to 29 kW for medium temperature applications and up to
15 kW for low temperature requirements. This ensures suitability for diverse
commercial environments, including supermarkets, retail stores, the HoReCa
sector, gas stations, and cold storage facilities, where reliability and
efficiency are increasingly critical.
With the Ecodesign framework and F-Gas
regulations reshaping the industry, Panasonic is at the forefront of enabling
the transition to natural refrigerants. The iCORE range helps customers comply
with the EU’s 2030 GWP limits, which mandates a GWP below 150 for new
stationary refrigeration systems, whilst unlocking lower operating costs
through year-round energy efficiency.
The launch of iCORE also reflects Panasonic’s
strategic investments in local manufacturing and innovation. The establishment
of Panasonic Cold Chain Poland (PCCPL) adds a fourth facility in the region,
dedicated exclusively to refrigeration technologies. The site features a
specialised R&D team, a training hub, and will soon include a
state-of-the-art refrigeration laboratory set to open in early 2026. With
localised production and an optimised supply chain, PCCPL enables shorter
delivery times and tailored solutions for European customers.
Panasonic delivers not only the most extensive
CO₂
condensing unit portfolio on the market, but also solutions aligned with trends
in the industry: decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
