At MCE 2026, Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions will be showcasing its long‑term commitment to sustainable cooling solutions with its most comprehensive commercial refrigeration portfolio to date.
Taking place in
Milan from 24–27 March 2026, MCE will represent a pivotal moment for food,
retail and commercial refrigeration. As refrigeration remains one of the
largest drivers of energy consumption and carbon emissions in European
commercial environments, it will continue to be a critical focus for
decarbonisation efforts[1]. With regulatory and climate pressures
accelerating the transition toward natural and low‑carbon refrigerants,
Panasonic’s presence will underscore its role in supporting commercial
operators through decarbonisation, evolving regulations and operational risk
reduction.
Two Stand-out
Refrigeration Ranges: iCO2RE and iCOOL
The iCO2RE
range represents Panasonic’s flagship line of CO₂ refrigeration
solutions for medium and low temperature commercial applications. Designed for
a wide variety of environments including retail,
HoReCa, food service outlets and
cold storage facilities. By using natural refrigerant R744 which has a global
warming potential (GWP) of just 1, iCO2RE is aligned with long term regulatory
requirements and future sustainability targets. The range offers one of the
widest capacity selections currently available in the refrigeration compact CO₂ condensing unit’s market: up to 29 kW for
medium temperature applications and up to 15 kW for low temperature
requirements.
iCO2RE systems
are dedicated to a decentralised architecture, among other applications, that
improves reliability and reduces operational risk by distributing cooling
production across multiple units. All-season reliability is supported by
Panasonic’s double stage BLDC inverter compressor technology, optimised gas
cooler design and advanced control software. See example case study, here.
The iCOOL range reflects ongoing demand for A2L and HFC/HFO refrigeration systems in Europe. The new iCOOL SE A2L-ready Series combines inverter technology with A2L ready design, allowing systems to be installed using HFC refrigerants and retrofitted to A2L refrigerants when required. This approach provides flexibility in the face of tightening F-Gas regulations, refrigerant availability constraints and evolving investment strategies. The whole iCOOL range covers a wide spectrum of cooling capacities – up to 42 kW for medium temperature applications, and up to 14 kW for low temperature needs.
From
refrigeration to a complete HVAC and refrigeration ecosystem
Panasonic’s
refrigeration solutions are presented as part of a fully integrated, total HVAC
and refrigeration ecosystem based on natural refrigerants. This approach
combines refrigeration, comfort heating and cooling, domestic hot water
production, ventilation, indoor air quality enhancement and smart system
control into a single coordinated solution.
By integrating these systems, commercial operators can recover and reuse waste heat for space heating or hot water, reducing energy consumption and simplifying management with one technology partner.
Indoor air
quality is also addressed as a key component across retail, HoReCa and cold storage environments. Panasonic’s
nanoeTM X technology contributes to a more comfortable environment,
supporting well-being without adding maintenance complexity.
Panasonic at
MCE 2026, Milan
Panasonic’s
participation at MCE 2026 represents a significant milestone in the company’s transition to sustainable
refrigerants. It reflects Panasonic’s evolution into a complete HVAC and
refrigeration solution provider for retail,
HoReCa, food processing and cold storage applications, capable of supporting energy efficiency, sustainability
and operational resilience through a single, integrated approach.
By focusing on system performance, natural refrigerants and long-term partnerships, Panasonic positions itself not simply as an exhibitor at MCE 2026, but as a trusted voice shaping the future direction of natural refrigerant technology.
