Panasonic Showcases Ultra Efficient Simultaneous Heating and Cooling R32 VRF Technology

Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions has expanded its variable refrigerant flow (VRF) portfolio with the new 3-Pipe VRF ECOi EX MF4 series which uses R32 refrigerant.

As a 3-Pipe VRF system, it is purpose built for commercial projects requiring simultaneous heating and cooling, ensuring high performance and flexibility across diverse zone conditions. This new system operates efficiently in temperatures ranging from -20 to 52℃. This compact 10 HP unit delivers outstanding seasonal efficiency, achieving ηs,c 308.3% in cooling and ηs,h 171.0% in heating. The system supports a single outdoor unit up to 12 HP, with the option to combine up to three units for a total capacity of 36 HP. This multi-outdoor configuration connects to up to 52 indoor units, providing one of the strongest capacity combinations available.

 

ECOi EX Range with R32 Refrigerant

The MF4 series operates with R32 and uses 41% less refrigerant when comparable to R410A systems. The refrigerant volume reduction raises the number of projects which require no additional safety measures for R32 refrigerant systems.
Safety is a top priority for Panasonic. The ECOi EX R32 series incorporates compliant safety measures for R32 refrigerant, including new leak detectors and alarms in line with EN 378 and IEC 60335240 standards. The system also offers a 3-pipe heat recovery box available with or without a safety valve kit, enabling flexible installation depending on the required safety measures.

 

Next‑Level Air Quality & Smart Building Performance

Panasonic’s R32 VRF portfolio includes a wide range of indoor units equipped with nanoe™ X technology, as well as energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) that support enhanced indoor air quality (IAQ). The lineup integrates seamlessly with smart building systems, including multisite control platforms for centralised, efficient management. The ECOi EX R32 Series also features a compact design, minimising installation footprint and making it well suited for multi-unit commercial projects.
