Panasonic Unveils Cutting-Edge 20HP Cold Chain Refrigeration Condensing Units
24/01/2024
Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions proudly presents the next step in R744 technology in the form of its new 20HP cold chain refrigeration condensing units complementing the existing range of 2HP, 4HP and 10HP systems. These cutting-edge units are engineered to redefine industry standards and address environmental concerns by replacing high global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants such as R404a.
The new range is suited to a wide range of applications including chilled and Low temperature display cases, walk-in cold stores, blast chillers, freezers and other process cooling applications across a wide range of sectors.
In line with Panasonic's commitment to create a low
carbon future with its green impact initiative, this launch represents a
significant step in the company's strategy to grow within the industrial and
retail solutions segment. The objective is clear: to develop a suite of
high-performance, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly cold chain
refrigeration solutions offering alternatives to the energy hungry high GWP
systems currently in operation.
The entire Panasonic cold chain range of equipment
operates on natural refrigerant R744 (CO2). Offering an Ozone
Depletion Potential (ODP) of 0 and a minimal GWP of 1, making it the ideal
choice for end users to take when investing in new equipment.
The units offer a high degree of flexibility with
extended pipe runs of up to 100m, a small compact footprint of 1.06m2, reducing
the need for larger plant spaces. With features such as night-time low noise operation, the units are suitable for locations close
to residential areas, particularly of benefit to the convenience store market.
Fully inverter driven, the systems provide unrivalled energy efficiency and can
operate in ambient temperatures from as low as -20oC and as high as
+45oC, ensuring reliable operation no matter the climate.
The entire range can be connected to an unlimited
number of evaporators or display cases and can provide operating temperatures
from +5oC down to -35oC. The units operate on an
extensive range of control options providing flexibility irrespective of a client’s
requirements in this area.
Appreciating the needs of our installer customers, Panasonic offers access to training and refrigeration software tools via the Panasonic Pro-Club website. Installers can access free training and commissioning tools, which enables the selection of refrigeration capacity, expansion valve, pipework sizing and the ability to calculate the required refrigerant charge - making selection and installation a much simpler process.
Should installers decide to become a Pro Partner, they can earn points towards benefits such a specialist tools from Testo and Accredited Training courses such as those provided by Business Edge and Cool Concerns.
In addition to their advanced features, these units comply with future European regulations regarding cooling systems, offering retailers and food outlets a path to long-term savings.
