Panasonic Support 2014 FitOut Awards
25/11/2014
Panasonic Heating and Cooling has recently played an integral part in the 2014 FitOut Awards, held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Dublin on the 4th November. Whilst its air conditioning products featured in two award-winning projects, Panasonic also teamed up with distributor and installer, Tech RAC, to co-sponsor the Fit-Out Consultancy Practice of the Year category.
At this prestigious event, attended by over 500 guests, 21 awards were presented to the very best organisations in Ireland's Fit Out sector. The annual award ceremony celebrates Ireland’s most impressive fit out projects, honouring the complete renovation of occupied and operational spaces using architectural design, furniture, mechanical services and construction.
As well as co-sponsoring the “Fit Out Consultancy of the Year” category which was ultimately won by mechanical and electrical consultancy, Ethos Engineering; Panasonic enjoyed additional success as its air conditioning products also featured in three award wins on the night.
Scooping top prize for ‘Fit Out project of the Year - Office Large’ was multinational pharmaceutical company, Novartis, for the renovation of its 70,000ft² European Business Centre in Dublin. This eight storey building, with stunning views over Dublin Bay and the mountains, specified Panasonic’s Mini ECOi units for the office areas, whilst its Elite PACi systems were installed to maintain temperatures within the Comms Rooms. Overall, the aim to create calm, light filled working areas with vibrant connected spaces for people to meet made this a winning project.
‘Fit Out project of the Year - Office Medium’ and ‘Overall Fit Out Project of the Year’ both went to estate agency group, Savills. The winning works comprised a refurbishment of the internal envelope of their Dublin HQ, including the installation of four Panasonic GHP units and four PACi systems by Tech RAC. This winning project ensured a modern office environment with a predominantly open plan arrangement within the infill building, whilst retaining the spirit of the protected structure.
Panasonic was also involved in another project which placed as a finalist within the ‘Fit-Out Project of The Year - Office Large’ category. The 1970’s, quirky HQ of Europe's leading corrugated packaging company, Smurfit Kappa Group, was in need of a full refurbishment to bring the building into the modern era. As a result, Panasonic was selected to fulfil the heating and cooling needs of this giant office block, providing 81 indoor units with four GHP outdoor units and six PACi systems for an energy efficient and cost effective solution.
“We are very happy to have played a part in this year’s Fit-Out Awards 2014,” says Vincent Mahony, National Account Manager at Panasonic, Ireland. “For Panasonic’s products to have contributed to three award wins is testament to the high quality and extensive product range that we have to offer, regardless of the application.”
