Panasonic’s Air Handling Unit Kit now compatible with ECOi and ECO G ranges
28/11/2014
Panasonic has recently updated its air handling unit (AHU) kit, to now connect with its ECOi and ECO G systems using the same refrigerant circuit as its VRF systems. Ideal for public buildings, hotels, shops, offices and large buildings, Panasonic’s AHU kit is able to be connected to units which provide fresh air ventilation and humidity control and is suitable for comfort cooling and heating applications.
Key features include:
• From 16-56kW for ECOi or ECO G outdoor units
• From 5kW to 28kW for commercial 1x1
• Defrost operation signal, Thermo-ON/OFF states output
• Demand control 40% to 120% (5% steps) by 0 – 10V input signal
• The discharge air temperature is also controlled to prevent too-low air discharge in cooling or too-high air discharge in heating (in case of VRF)
• A remote control can easily be installed with the box for simple integration.
“By supplying the option for an AHU kit, our customers can easily design an Air Handling Unit which can be integrated on a PACi or VRF ECOi and ECO G installation. This AHU will then take all the efficiency benefits of a VRF, GHP and PACi,” says Marc Diaz, UK and Ireland’s Country Manager.
The AHU kit from Panasonic can be connected to a large number of interfaces which permits for example, a 0-10V output fan control. The PCB will control the fan unit within the desired design parameters and provide the interface between all external control devices and the unit itself. It is equipped natively by dry contact connectors which enables operations such as on/off, error message, temperature settings and mode.
Of course the AHU kit can be connected to all the line-up of interfaces from PACi and ECOi, from the standard remote control CZ-RTC2 to full BMS control.
Panasonic’s AHU can easily be calculated on a VRF installation using a specific module on the VRF designer. Specifiers will have all the tools to select the most appropriate dimensions. Also, due to the new VRF designer AutoCAD function, the AHU can easily be integrated onto an AutoCAD drawing.
